Police

A 37-year-old man will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today in relation to an alleged abduction and assault which occurred in Darwin last week.

Detective Sergeant Isobel Cummins alleged the 37-year-old man attended a residence in Woolner on Wednesday evening 22 October and assaulted a 28-year-old male.

“The victim was forcibly removed from the residence by the alleged offender and an unknown male accomplice.

“He was driven to various locations around the Darwin area and northern suburbs.

“The victim was able to get away from the two offenders in Wagaman a short time later. 

“The vehicles involved are described as a silver coloured Ford F250 truck, and a white Ford Courier.

“Police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen these vehicles or witnessed any suspicious behaviour in Woolner, Bayview or Wagaman between approximately 6pm and 8pm last Wednesday evening,” Detective Sergeant Cummins said.

The 37-year-old was charged with:

Deprivation of liberty

Unlawful enter dwelling

Unlawfully cause serious harm

Stealing

He was remanded in custody and will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
