Unlawful Entry - Coconut Grove

Police

Police are urging residents in the Northern Suburbs to be on the lookout for a woman posing as a cleaner to gain access into their homes.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said that Police have received a number of reports regarding an unknown offender attempting to gain access to residences in Coconut Grove.

“We have been advised that this woman is entering, or attempting to enter homes and, when confronted, claims to be a cleaner.

“At around 12.30pm yesterday, the woman was disturbed inside a private residence by an occupant of the home. The offender was escorted outside and Police were called. It does not appear that anything was stolen.

“The front door of this home was locked. It appears the woman has entered the yard and gained access to the property via a back door.

“Detectives from Strike Force Trident are investigating and we are very keen to speak to this woman.

“The alleged offender is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, thin to medium build, mid 40’s and wearing a red shirt.  She was also carrying a cleaning wipe.”

Police urge anyone with information to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
