Detectives from the Major Crime Squad and Katherine are investigating the death of two people on Groote Eylandt.

Detective Sergeant Tony Henrys from Major Crime Squad said Police from Groote Eylandt responded to a concern for welfare at a house last night.

“Upon arrival Police gained entry into the residence and a male female were confirmed deceased.

“A crime scene has been established and investigations into the deaths are ongoing,” Detective Sergeant Tony Henrys said.
