Katherine fire - Assistance sought

Police

Katherine Police continue to investigate the fire which destroyed the Daisy Angus building on October 21.

Constable Brendan McLinden, from the Northern Investigation Section, said that they were seeking public assistance to locate three people who may have information on the cause of the fire.

“We are hoping to speak with a female of Aboriginal appearance, aged in her early to mid-thirties, approximately 150 – 160 cm tall and carrying a black and grey coloured blanket.  At the time she was wearing a cream coloured top with a dark red skirt.

“A male of Aboriginal appearance, described as middle-aged, also approximately 150 – 160 cm tall with a solid build, wearing black jeans and an off-white cowboy hat.

“And a male of Aboriginal appearance, approximately 190 cm tall with a slim build, short black hair and wearing a white t-shirt.”

Constable McLinden said a site inspection had cleared the building of containing any asbestos.
