Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an aggravated assault which occurred in Darwin City yesterday evening.

Senior Sergeant Annette Cooper of the Serious Crime Squad said the incident occurred at around 7.00pm in West Lane Arcade.

“The offender is described as being a Caucasian male aged between 20-30 years old and approximately 170-175cm tall.  He was wearing long brown trousers and a brown button up t-shirt.

“Police would like to speak to anyone in the area of West Lane Arcade and anyone in Darwin City that may have seen a man matching the description.

“The victim was found by passers-by and transported to Royal Darwin Hospital,” Senior Sergeant Cooper said.

Police urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may recognise this person, to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
