Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service Members attended a structure fire at approximately 11:15pm on Tuesday 11 November.

Fire crews from Marrara and Darwin stations attended the house on Tasman Street which was fully involved when they arrived at 11.19pm and was extensively damaged.

Station Officer Peter Van Boxtel said investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing.

“Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have been caused by an overloaded or faulty power board in the downstairs area of the house.

“Both occupants and their 4 dogs were located outside of the house are were safe and well.”

The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
