Northern Territory Police have charged a 27-year-old female following a large kava seizure in Ramingining.

Remote Sergeant Shane McCormack said Police responded to information about Kava being sold from a Ramingining property yesterday afternoon.

“Officers conducted a search of the property and located 65 kilograms of powdered kava, split into 804 zip lock bags.

“The alleged offender was issued a notice to appear for possess and supply a commercial quantity kava”.

She will appear in the Maningrida Court on 3 December 2014.

Police estimate the kava could have fetched $120,000 if sold in the surrounding area.
