Drug and Firearm Charges – Darwin

Police

Three males will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today charged with drug and firearm offences.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Mark Malogorski from the Drug and Organised Crime Squad said three alleged offenders were arrested yesterday following a search warrant at a Driver property.

“Upon a search of the property Police located 140 grams of methamphetamine, 70 MDMA (ecstasy) tablets and a small quantity of cannabis.

“Police also seized $28,500 cash, two firearms and an ice pipe.

The offenders aged 21, 23 and 30-years-old were arrested and charged with:

  • Possess dangerous drug – schedule one – commercial
  • Supply dangerous drug – schedule one – commercial
  • Possess dangerous drug – schedule two – trafficable
  • Supply dangerous drug – schedule two – trafficable

·         Possess cannabis

·         Possess thing to administer drug

  • Possess tainted property
  • Possess firearm unlicensed
  • Possess unregistered firearm
  • Possess ammunition without a license
  • Fail to secure firearms and ammunition


They were remanded in custody to appear today.

“This is a significant seizure of a schedule one drug in a commercial quantity, but what is really concerning is that loaded and sawn off firearms were located at the residence”.
