A 36-year-old man will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today charged with arson and damage to property.

Detective Senior Constable Tim Easthope from the Southern Investigation Division said Police had been investigating a fire in an Alice Springs car park, which destroyed two vehicles on 12 October 2014.

“Police arrested the 36-year-old alleged offender yesterday. He was charged with arson and damage to property (x2).

“He was remanded in custody overnight to appear Alice Springs Magistrates court today”.
