Man to face court following extradition - Alice Springs

A 39-year-old man will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrate Court today after being extradited from NSW.

Superintendent Brent Warren said the offences dated back to March 2013.

“Police will allege the man used stolen cards to obtain alcohol, fuel and mobile phones from local suppliers in Alice Springs before hiring a Toyota Landcruiser using the same stolen cards.

“The vehicle was later found by SA Police in Adelaide in June 2013.

“NT Police applied for extradition from NSW immediately upon completion of a sentence for offences committed in that state.”

Superintendent Warren said the man will face nine charges each of obtain benefit by deception and stealing.
