Aggravated Assault Charges - Darwin

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 23-year-old male yesterday in relation to an aggravated assault of a 15-year-old male.

Senior Sergeant Karl Day said the incident occurred on November 14 when the 15-year-old male and his friend were riding together on a dirt bike in the suburb of Zuccoli.

“The alleged offender drove up beside the youths in his utility and allegedly attempted to knock the youths off their bike.

“The 15-year-old male stopped and got off the bike at which point the offender allegedly struck the victim multiple times before pulling him into the vehicle,” said Senior Sergeant Day.

He was charged with recklessly endangering/serious harm, aggravated assault and deprivation of liberty.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court today.
