Northern Territory Police Scene of Crime officers, led by three forensic experts, are continuing the comprehensive crime scene analysis of the alleged grave site of Carlie Sinclair.

To assist with the process of excavating the area of interest in Berry Springs, earthmoving equipment was brought onto the site today.

The site is characterized by heavy vegetation and the Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service has assisted in clearing some of the more problematic foliage by way of a burning off process.

This meticulous process is being conducted as quickly as possible but with the utmost consideration and care so as not to compromise any potential evidence.

The 44-year-old male in Police custody in relation to this matter is expected to be formally interviewed this afternoon by Major Crime Detectives.

Detectives continue to liaise with family members during this traumatic period.
