Alice Springs Police have now made 50 arrests during the ongoing Operation Romulus.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Dash said the operation is aimed at reducing the levels of domestic and family related violence in Alice Springs.

“This operation targets recidivist offenders, ensures compliance with Domestic Violence Orders and bail conditions and provides support and assistance to the victims.

“There have been 158 offences recognised during the past 13 weeks of the operation and 55 Domestic Violence Orders served.

“NT Police do not tolerate acts of violence in any situation and urge all Territorians to oppose these acts against family members and let them know it is unacceptable.

“Any acts of violence should be immediately reported to Police on 131 444 or 000 in an emergency.”

Operation Romulus will continue to target the perpetrators of domestic violence in the region.
