Detectives from the Southern Serious Crime Squad are requesting any witnesses to a fire on Stuart Terrace this morning to contact Police.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Dash said the fire occurred just after 11.00am.

“NT Fire and Rescue crews quickly extinguished the fire ensuring damage to the property was minimal.

“Subsequent investigations established the fire started underneath the rear of the building near some old tyres but the cause remains undetermined.

“As a result the fire is being treated as suspicious.”

Detective Senior Sergeant Dash said anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have witnessed the fire could assist investigations by contacting Police.
