Police

Detectives from Strike Force Trident are appealing for public information in regard to several firearms stolen from a residence in Stuart Park.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the theft occurred sometime between Sunday January 11 and Wednesday January 14.

“The owner had the firearms stored in a gun safe which was forcibly entered resulting in five rifles being stolen.

“Two Winchester 30.30 rifles, two under & over shotguns and a .308 Winchester rifle were taken from the safe.”

“The male person was wearing a high visibility shirt and stated to a neighbour that he was ‘spraying weeds’.”

“Police are appealing for anyone who may have noticed a person matching this description in the area at this time to please contact them.

“Police would also like to talk to anyone with information on a white Mazda utility that was stolen from Nightcliff on January 12 and recovered in Tipperary Court on January 13.
