Strike Force Trident have charged two youths with property offences following an unlawful entry in Palmerston CBD on Monday evening.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said three male youths aged 9, 11 and 12, allegedly entered the reception area of an apartment building at around 7:40pm.

“Police allege the youths stole a quantity of cash and caused around $50 worth of damage. Police located the three males at a residence in Moulden yesterday.”

The 11 and 12-year-old were charged with:

Aggravated unlawful entry

Trespass

Stealing

Damage to property

The 12-year-old was remanded in custody and will appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court on Friday.

The 11-year-old will appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court on 10 February.

The 9-year-old was released without charge.
