Attempt stealing with violence - Palmerston

Police

Police are requesting public assistance following an attempted stealing incident in Palmerston this morning.

Watch Commander Daniel Whitfield-Jones said a male traveling in a light blue Holden Astra on Lambrick Avenue was approached by another male on foot at the intersection with Roystonea Avenue just after 6.00am this morning.

 

“The male on foot demanded the male driver give him the vehicle while trying to pull him out of the seat.

 

“An altercation occurred and the driver was struck with a small steel pole before returning to his vehicle and leaving the scene.

 

“The alleged offender is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, wearing a white singlet and brown shorts.  He has a stud in his left ear, a scar on his left forearm and a possible tattoo on his right calf.

 

“The man is aged in his late twenties and has some facial hair.”

 

Watch Commander Whitfield-Jones said Police are currently searching for the alleged offender and urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may recognise this person from the description to please contact Police on 131 444 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
