An 18-year-old man will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court facing arson, assault and property offences.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Karl Day said Police allege the offender unlawfully entered a residence in Moulden on Tuesday and stole around $4,000 worth of property before lighting a fire inside the unit.

“Police also allege the offender assaulted a 23-year-old man in Palmerston on 19 January.

“He was arrested outside a shopping centre in Palmerston yesterday. Police also recovered a quantity of stolen property from a vehicle nearby.

“He was charged with unlawful entry, stealing arson and aggravated assault.”

He will appear in court today.
