Stealing With Violence - Public Assistance Sought - Stuart Park

Police are seeking public assistance in relation to a stealing with violence incident that occurred in Stuart Park.

Acting Sergeant Paul Majda from Darwin Police Station said two males entered a liquor store on the Stuart Highway at around 5pm Saturday 14 February.

“Police allege the two males attempted to steal several bottles of spirits by concealing them in their clothing.

“A store attendant approached the alleged offenders and they handed back some of the alcohol before exiting the store with five stolen bottles of spirits.

“Police allege one of the men returned to the liquor store a short time later and assaulted the store attendant before fleeing.”

The two male offenders are described as being of Aboriginal appearance approximately 19 to 20-year-old.

The first male was wearing a grey singlet with writing on the front, long grey pants and running shoes.

The second male was wearing a grey singlet with dark blue jeans and white shoes.

“Police would like to speak to four people who were in the liquor store at the time of the incident. We ask these people to come forward as they may be able to assist us with our enquiries,” Acting Sergeant Majda said.
