Overdue Party Located - Central Australia

Police

A 40-year-old woman and her 39-year-old male partner have been located safe and well after their vehicle broke down five kilometres south of Boggy Hole.

Senior Sergeant Michael Potts of the Central Desert Division said Police conducted a land and air search assisted by members from the Northern Territory Emergency Service and Parks and Wildlife Rangers.

“The couple left Alice Springs on Thursday 19 February for a two day camping trip and were due to return home on Saturday, however they became stranded when their vehicle got a flat battery.

“Parks and Wildlife Rangers located the pair with their vehicle at around 10:45am today and assisted them back to Hermannsburg. The couple are now making their own way back to Alice Springs.

“This is a great result and Police would like to thank the public and everyone who assisted in the search effort.”
