Domestic Violence Offender Charged - Alice Spring

Detectives from Strike Force Romulus have charged a 30-year-old man following the alleged assault of his partner.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said the alleged offender assaulted his 30-year-old partner at a residence in Lajamanu on 2 February.

“The woman sustained injuries to her head arms and legs and was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment.

“Police arrested the offender in Alice Springs yesterday and charged him with unlawfully cause serious harm, armed with an offensive weapon and was also issued a Domestic Violence Order.

“Assaults upon domestic partners are extremely serious, and Police will continue to do everything in their power to enforce the law against offenders.  Safety is everyone’s right.”

He will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
