A 22-year-old woman is in police custody following an incident in Braitling early this morning.

Police were called shortly after 2.00am and attended a residence where a 24-year-old man had been stabbed in the torso.

“The woman, who appeared intoxicated, was still at the residence when police attended and was immediately taken into custody,” said Superintendent Travis Wurst.

St John Ambulance conveyed the victim to Alice Springs Hospital where is reported to be in a stable condition.

Investigations are continuing.
