A 37-year-old man is in custody following the death of a woman in Alice Springs in the early hours of this morning.

“Police were called to an address in Larapinta shortly before 5.00am where a 32-year-old woman had suffered a stab wound to her leg,” said Detective Superintendent Brent Warren. “She had lost a significant amount of blood. Her de-facto partner was at the scene when Police arrived.

 “She was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital by St John Ambulance, but died before arrival.”

Police have taken the man into custody and investigations are continuing.
