An 18-year-old man has been charged with multiple counts of having sexual intercourse with a minor.

The charges follow information given to Police during a recent remote community visit that the alleged offender had been in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.

“Police arrested the man yesterday and conveyed him to Alice Springs, where he was interviewed and later charged with six counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 16 years and one count of breaching bail,” said Detective Superintendent Brent Warren.

He was remanded in custody to appear before the Magistrates Court on 27 May 2015.
