Rock Throwing - Alice Springs - Update

Police have maintained a strong presence in Alice Springs overnight to deter anti-social behaviour in the CBD.

Superintendent Travis Wurst said Police received one report of rock throwing near Schwartz Crescent and there were no reports of property damage in the CBD last night.

“Police took 34 people into protective custody, conveyed 77 youth home, and apprehended three youth for trespassing at a business on Bath Street.

“The reduction of property damage and rock throwing is encouraging and Police will continue to target anti-social behaviour to ensure a safe environment for the people of Alice Springs.

“Police will continue to maintain a strong presence in the CBD and urge the public to report any suspicious behaviour to Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
