Domestic Violence Incident - Alice Springs

Police

Detectives are calling for witnesses to a domestic violence incident in Hidden Valley camp yesterday evening.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said Police attended the camp where a 30-year-old female had suffered serious head injuries.

“Police are investigating the incident and believe the woman’s 40-year-old male partner can assist with their inquiries.

“We are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who knows the current whereabouts of the 40-year-old male, to please contact Police on 131 444 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”

Detective Superintendent Warren said alcohol appears to be a contributing factor.

“Everyone has the right to be safe in their own community.  Alcohol fuelled violence affects all aspects of our society including family members, children and bystanders.

“Police will continue to make every effort to seek out perpetrators and hold them accountable for their actions.

The woman remains in Alice Springs Hospital in a stable condition.
