Criminal Damage - Harts Range Police Station

Police

The Police Station at Harts Range, approximately 120 kilometres north east of Alice Springs, has been seriously damaged by a vehicle overnight.

Territory Duty Superintendent Brendan Muldoon said the vehicle was deliberately driven through the front doors of the station just before 10.00pm last night.

“Police are currently searching for a 42-year-old male who was involved in an earlier incident with Night Patrol Officers who alleged the man was agitated and driving in a reckless manner.

“The man has allegedly thrown a wheel spanner at the Night Patrol vehicle and driven the car at speed towards the Police Station.

“The station, which was vacant at the time, has sustained damage to the front glass doors and rear roller doors.”

Territory Duty Superintendent Muldoon said the alleged offender has then driven off in the direction of the Plenty Highway.

“Police do not think he would have travelled far as damage left behind suggests he would have no working headlights, no front numberplate or a front bumper bar.

“The car may still have the rear numberplate attached which is SA registered S145 AVI.

“We are asking anyone who sights the dark blue Ford Falcon utility, with front end and possible rear end damage, to please contact Police on 131 444 or Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
