Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad have charged a 23-year-old woman following an alleged stabbing incident in Nightcliff over the weekend.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Matt Akers said the offender approached a 47-year-old woman at John Stokes Square in Nightcliff early Sunday morning.

“Police allege the offender stabbed the victim in the face and fled the scene but was arrested by Police a short time later.

“The victim was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital to receive treatment for her injuries and remains in a stable condition.

“The 23-year-old woman was charged with unlawfully cause serious harm.”

She will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
