Drugs Seized - Darwin

Drug and Organised Crime Detectives have charged three people with drug offences following two incidents in Darwin yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Clint Sims said members arrested two females aged 17 and 25 following a traffic apprehension in Berrimah.

“Just before 5:00pm Police pulled over a Mini Coupe, upon search of the vehicle, a quantity of methamphetamine was located and both occupants were arrested.

“Following the arrest, Police conducted a search of a hotel room tenanted by the pair. A further 20 grams of methamphetamine was located, along with 20 grams of cannabis.

"Both females have been charged with possession and supply of a scheduled one drug, trafficable quantity. They will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.

 

“In an earlier incident members arrested a 40-year-old male following a search warrant at a Darwin hotel.

“A small quantity of methamphetamine and cannabis was located in the room, and the alleged offender was taken into Police custody.

“He was charged with possession of a schedule one drug and possession of cannabis. He will also appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today”.
