Cannabis Seized Tennant Creek

Police

Police have charged an 18-year-old female and a 19-year-old male with drug offences following a traffic apprehension near Tennant Creek yesterday.

Superintendent Daniel Bacon said Police apprehended the vehicle on the Stuart Highway approximately 15km south of Tennant Creek and conducted a search of the vehicle.

“Police located and seized 983 grams on cannabis in their vehicle”

They were both charged with:

Possess cannabis in commercial quantity
Supply cannabis

The male was also charged with Drive unlicensed.

They were refused bailed and will appear in Tennant Creek Court today.

“Police will continue to target drug traffickers who take money out of communities and profit from this criminal behaviour,” Superintendent Bacon said.
