Strike Force Vega Charge Youth - Alice Springs

Detectives from Strike Force Vega have charged a 16-year-old male with property offences following an unlawful entry in Alice Springs.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said Police allege the youth unlawfully entered a residence in Larapinta on 2 March.

“Police allege the youth stole an iPhone, camera, hard drive, ear phones and cash valued at $1,100 and caused around $500 worth of damage.

“He was arrested by Police yesterday and charged with unlawful entry, stealing and damage to property.”

He will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 26 June.

“Since July 2014, Strike Force Vega has made 372 arrests in relation to 1656 offences. Vega has also served 72 summons notices, issued 23 Drug Infringement Notices and executed 64 search warrants,” Detective Superintendent Warren said.

“Strike Force Vega Detectives will continue to target offenders to reduce the rate of property and drug related crime in the Alice Springs area.”
