Call for witnesses - Assault - Berrimah

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses following two separate assaults that occurred in Berrimah.

Constable First Class Kelly Livingstone from the Serious Crime Unit said the first incident occurred just after 8:00pm on Sunday night.

“It is alleged that a 55-year-old male was standing at a bus stop on the Stuart Highway, Berrimah when he was approached by two males and seriously assaulted.

“It is alleged the males stole an iPhone and wallet from the victim before fleeing the scene. The victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital where he is in a stable condition.

“Yesterday evening, Police charged two males aged 33 and 35 with assault causing serious harm. They will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.

“Later at approximately 9:30pm on Sunday, Police attended to a second assault that occurred on Vigilant Lane, Berrimah.

“On arrival Police located a 50-year-old male with serious facial injuries, he was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital where he underwent treatment. Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding this incident.
