Methamphetamine Seized Darwin

Police

Drug and Organised Crime Detectives have seized a quantity of methamphetamine and arrested three people following search warrants in Darwin.

Detective Senior Sergeant Clint Sims said the result came after two search warrants were executed by Police yesterday afternoon.

“The searches included units in both suburbs of Tipperary Waters and Parap.

“In total Police seized 191 grams of crystalline methamphetamine, commonly referred to as 'ice', a total of $10,500 in cash and a small quantity of cannabis.

“If sold in the Territory, this seizure could fetch in excess of $250,000.

“Police will continue to target ice dealers and urge everybody to consider the negative impacts that this drug has in the community. If you have any information that relates to the importation, distribution or manufacture of this or any illicit drug- please consider providing that information to Police, to assist in tackling illicit drug use, and associated criminal offending.”

A male aged 31 and two females aged 26 and 27 were charged with:

Possessing a commercial quantity of a schedule 1 substance

Supplying a commercial quantity of a schedule 1 substance

Possessing tainted property.

They will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 1 June.
