Police have charged a 22-year-old man in relation to an unlawful entry in Alice Springs on 30 May.

Detective Sergeant Trent Abbott said the property was unlawfully entered by the man via an unlocked sliding door.

“It is alleged the man stole $2500.00 worth of electrical items, including an iPad.

“In this instance the stolen valuables were recovered and were able to be returned however, it is a reminder to residents and visitors to always ensure all doors and windows are locked.

“Valuables and belongings should be kept out of sight from the temptation of thieves, who will often seize any opportunity to steal items.

“Police urge anybody who may have witnessed unlawful entries or suspicious activity, to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”

He was charged with:

Unlawful entry – dwelling

Stealing.

He will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
