Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an assault of a 24-year-old woman in East Side on Monday night.
Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said the incident occurred on Stott Terrace in the vicinity of Sturt Street at about 11.30pm, 1 June.
“The woman was walking with a friend on the northern footpath of Stott Terrace, towards Sturt Terrace, when they were approached by an unknown male.
“It is alleged the male assaulted the woman and stole her handbag before fleeing through saltbush in the direction of Sadadeen Road.
“The male is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, between 15 and 25-years-old, wearing a hat and a jacket.
Police urge anyone in the area of Sturt St, Stott Tce, Sadadeen Rd and Mercorella Cct between 11.25pm and 11.45pm last night to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
