Strike Force Trident Detectives have charged a 14-year-old male following two unlawful entries.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the youth was charged following an unlawful entry in Brinkin and in Nightcliff on 27 May.
“It is alleged the youth unlawfully entered a property in Brinkin and stole a set of keys to a Subaru Forester. It is alleged that the youth then attempted to push the vehicle out of the drive way before being disturbed and fleeing the scene.
“It is alleged that he then unlawfully entered a property in Nightcliff and stole a blue Mazda 2 valued at $33,000. The vehicle is still outstanding.
He was arrested yesterday in Karama and charged with:
- Unlawful entry (x2)
- Stealing (x2)
- Unlawful use of a motor vehicle (x2)
He will appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court on 5 June.
