Serious Crime Squad Detectives are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred in Nightcliff early this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Akers said the two men aged 34 and 43 were travelling together in a Jeep Cherokee at around 1:00am.

“It appears an altercation between the pair occurred as the vehicle approached the intersection at Progress Drive and Nightcliff Road.

“Both men got out of the vehicle and as a result of the altercation it appears both men were stabbed.

“The two men sustained injuries to their chest and they both remain in Royal Darwin Hospital in a stable condition.”

Investigations are ongoing and enquiries are continuing.
