Missing Person – Kings Canyon

Police

Northern Territory Police and Emergency Service personnel are continuing the search for a 64-year-old woman missing in the Kings Canyon area since yesterday.

The woman became separated from her husband while walking and failed to return to her camp.

The couple, from Millicent in South Australia, was camping at the Salt Creek rest area on Luritja Road when they went for a walk yesterday morning.

A helicopter search of the area is now in progress.

The woman’s husband has remained at the site and is assisting with the search.

“Overnight, police vehicles patrolled the area using lights and sirens in an effort to attract the woman’s attention,” Superintendent Don Fry said.

“She is described as being 5’11” tall, Caucasian, with a medium build, grey hair and blue eyes. She was wearing pink pants, a black and white check shirt, red jacket and a beanie. It is understood she did not have any water with her.”
