Northern Territory Police have arrested a 30-year-old-male after he escaped from Alice Springs Correctional Facility overnight.
Superintendent Virginia Read said just after 8:30pm Police received reports that the prisoner was missing from the facility.
“An immediate search of the area was undertaken with vehicles stopped along the Stuart Highway.
“Just after 6:00am Police located the escapee at a Wills Terrace Service Station. He was arrested and taken into custody.”
He is expected to be charged later today.
