The Commissioner of Police has confirmed senior executive appointments in the Northern Territory Police Force.

“After a rigorous selection process it is a testament to the strength of our agency that all appointments for Assistant Commissioners and Commanders are being made from within our own ranks,” said Commissioner Reece Kershaw. 

“I am particularly proud to be able to announce the first female Assistant Commissioner appointment in the history of the Northern Territory Police Force – a significant milestone for the agency.” 

The appointments will commence on 30 June 2015. 

The following members have been promoted to Assistant Commissioner:

• Assistant Commissioner Jeanette Kerr
• Assistant Commissioner Peter Bravos
• Assistant Commissioner Lance Godwin.

The following members have been promoted to Commander:

• Commander Danny Bacon
• Commander Brent Warren
• Commander James J O’Brien
• Commander Tony Fuller.

“As a group, the successful Assistant Commissioner and Commander applicants bring more than 180 years’ experience to their new positions.

“This new senior executive team will provide strong values-led leadership for the agency going forward,” said Commissioner Kershaw.
