Alice Springs Police have charged a 30 year-old woman following the alleged assault of a 33-year-old man.

Acting Sergeant Caragh Hen said the pair was at a residence in Braitling when they became involved in an altercation at around 3:30pm on Saturday.

“Police allege the woman stabbed the victim before fleeing the area. The 33-year-old man was taken to Alice Springs Hospital to receive treatment for injuries to his stomach and arm.

“Police arrested the woman yesterday morning and charged her with unlawfully cause serious harm, breach of a Domestic Violence Order and Breach of Bail."

She was remanded in custody and will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
