Members from the Southern Serious Crime Squad have charged a 36-year-old man following an alleged sexual assault in Alice Springs.

Senior Constable First Class Nicholas Barnes said Police allege the offender sexually assaulted a woman on Bath Street, near Stuart Terrace, on 25 May.

“Alice Springs Police arrested the man in The Gap yesterday afternoon.

“He was charged with sexual intercourse without consent.

“He was remanded in custody and will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.”
