Sexual Assault - Public Assistance Sought - Alice Springs

Alice Springs Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in the CBD early this morning.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Leith Phillips said a 52-year-old woman was approached by an unknown man in the Todd Mall, near Flynn Church, at around 12:25am and it is alleged he sexually assaulted her.

“He is described as being of Aboriginal appearance; short in stature and was wearing a grey stripy jumper.

“Detectives from the Southern Investigation Division are investigating and enquiries are continuing.

“Police urge anyone who may have been in the area between 12:00am and 1:00am or anyone with any information to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
