Unlawful Entries - Charges - Yulara

Police have charged three males aged 18, 19 and 20 following several property offences and unlawful entries in Yulara earlier this week.

Acting Superintendent Michael Potts said Police allege the offenders entered a residence early Monday morning but fled empty handed when the occupant of the unit woke.

“It is alleged the 18 and 20-year-old then attempted to unlawfully enter a licensed premises and caused damaged to a shed door before fleeing.

“The three allegedly also broke into a residence and stole tobacco before the 18-year-old male allegedly indecently assaulted the occupant.”

The three males were arrested yesterday and charged with:

  • Aggravated unlawful entry of a dwelling (x2)
  • Attempted unlawful entry of building
  • Criminal damage

The 18-year-old was also charged with indecent assault. He was remanded in custody with the 20-year-old and they will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.

The 19-year-old will appear in Mutitjulu Court on 30 September.
