Call for public assistance – Stealing and Assault – Alice Springs

Alice Springs Police are investigating an assault and stealing at a restaurant in the Todd Mall Alice Springs just before 9:00pm on Tuesday 29 September 2015.

Detective Superintendent Travis Wurst said Police allege two male offenders entered the restaurant and attempted to steal a bottle of wine from the bar. When challenged by one of the staff, one offender assaulted the staff member with a bottle and the offenders ran from the venue.

“We are asking the public for any assistance in this matter. Police have obtained all available CCTV from the area and have spoken with other possible witnesses. The identity of the offenders remains unknown at this time.

“Both offenders are described as being Indigenous in appearance and about 180cm tall. The first was wearing a light blue T-shirt and cream coloured shorts; and the other was wearing a black T-shirt, grey shorts and white shoes. They were last seen running into the Todd River.

“The victim received a cut above his right eye which required six stitches when treated at the Alice Springs Hospital.
