Strike Force Trident Detectives have charged a 17-year-old male in relation to the theft of a stolen motor vehicle.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said a residence in Durack was unlawfully entered on 3 October and a Toyota Camry was stolen from the premises.

“The vehicle was later recovered in Yarrawonga on Sunday 11 October. Police arrested the youth yesterday morning following forensic testing of the vehicle.

"He was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

"He was remanded in custody and will appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court today."
