Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an alleged hit and run in Alice Springs last night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Ordelman of Major Crash Investigations said a 25-year-old female on a blue Yamaha R150 motorcycle, was struck by a vehicle at around 6:30pm, on Len Kittle Drive next to Blatherskite Park.

 “The vehicle has been described as a red 1991-1994 model Toyota Corolla hatchback. The vehicle has sustained damage to the front grill and possibly also sustained noticeable windscreen damage.

 “The woman is in a critical condition in the Alice Springs Hospital.

 “Police are asking anyone in the area of Len Kittle Drive at around 6:30pm last night who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with information about the vehicle to call Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
