Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an alleged hit and run in Alice Springs last Wednesday, 22 October.
Sergeant Mark Casey of the Major Crash Investigation Unit said a 25-year-old female was struck by a vehicle at around 6:30pm, on Len Kittle Drive next to Blatherskite Park.
“The driver has yet to make contact with police and investigations are ongoing to identify this person.
“Police are asking anyone that was in the area between Blatherskite Park and Palm Circuit 6:45pm and 7.15pm on Wednesday that may have seen a red Toyota Corolla to call Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
“Every member of the community has both a moral and legal obligation to stop and render assistance after a crash.
“We would encourage the community to contact police with any information that may assist with this investigation. “If you think you may know something, let us know even if you are not sure if it will help.
“This is a selfish act and police will do everything within their power to identify the driver.”
