Members from the Drug and Organised Crime Squad have charged a man with drug offences and seized a quantity of cannabis following a traffic apprehension in Hayes Creek.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Mark Malogorski said members pulled over a black Holden Commodore on the Stuart Highway just before 4:30pm yesterday.
“Upon a search of vehicle, Police located 7kg of cannabis concealed in the boot and $5000 cash.”
A 57-year-old man was arrested and charged with:
- Possess cannabis commercial
- Quantity supply cannabis
- Possess proceeds of a crime
He was remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 20 January 2016.
“This is a significant seizure estimated at valued at $350,000 if sold on the streets of Darwin,” said Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Malogorski.
