Robbery – Charges – Alice Springs

Alice Springs Police have charged two male youths aged 13, 17 and an 18-year-old male following an assault on November 19.

Acting Superintendent Virginia Read said the three youths approached a 36-year-old man on Gap Rd about 12:30am.

“The offenders then assaulted the man, leaving him unconscious.

“The offenders searched the victim’s pockets and stole his wallet, iPhone and car keys.

“The victim was treated on the scene by St John Ambulance members and taken to the Alice Springs Hospital for further treatment.

“Officers were then able to use CCTV footage to track down and arrest the offenders about 3:15am,” Acting Superintendent Virginia Read said.

All the three males were charged with robbery.

The 18-year-old male was remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Court today.

The 13-year-old youth was detained to appear in Youth Court today.

The 17-year-old male has been bailed to appear in court on the 20 November.
